Brickwork

The buildings at Burridge Gardens are all unique. Lee Marley helped us achieve a range of palettes, textures, tones and decorative bricklaying, all of which create variety within the development. There's a sense of identity to each of the buildings along with the homes and community within.

Embassy Gardens has been described as ‘a scheme of bridges, balconies and bricks’.  The brickwork bonding varies – with English, Flemish and American bonds used to differentiate buildings.  Lee Marley’s input during the preparation of sample panels and during construction was key to the quality of the output.

The architecture of Fresh Wharf relies heavily on the configuration of the brickwork - its textures, its rhythm, its fabric quality – in contrast with the smooth crystalline metalwork of the balconies. Lee Marley recognised this from the outset and have executed the buildings exceptionally well. The regularity and crispness of the brickwork remains constant irrespective of vertical stack bond, recessed panels, saddlebacks, non-porous blues, stacked saddles and features bands. The buildings really shine.
